Frequently asked questions
How is the MUET admission aggregate calculated?
MUET weights applicants as follows: Matric / O-Level 10%, Intermediate / A-Level 40%, Entry Test 50%. Your percentage in each component is multiplied by its weight and the results are added.
What aggregate is needed for admission to MUET?
Closing merit changes every year and by programme. Competitive programmes at MUET historically close between 70% and 85% aggregate, while less saturated programmes can close in the 55-65% range.
Does MUET accept A-Level and O-Level results?
Yes. A-Level and O-Level applicants must submit an IBCC equivalence certificate, and the equivalence marks are used in place of intermediate and matric marks in the aggregate formula.
Is the entry test the most important part?
For MUET the entry test carries 50% of the aggregate, so it is usually the component where applicants gain or lose the most ground.
