Frequently asked questions
How is the LUMS admission aggregate calculated?
LUMS weights applicants as follows: Matric / O-Level 15%, Intermediate / A-Level 25%, LCAT / SAT 60%. Your percentage in each component is multiplied by its weight and the results are added.
What aggregate is needed for admission to LUMS?
Closing merit changes every year and by programme. Competitive programmes at LUMS historically close between 70% and 85% aggregate, while less saturated programmes can close in the 55-65% range.
Does LUMS accept A-Level and O-Level results?
Yes. A-Level and O-Level applicants must submit an IBCC equivalence certificate, and the equivalence marks are used in place of intermediate and matric marks in the aggregate formula.
Is the entry test the most important part?
For LUMS the entry test carries 50% of the aggregate, so it is usually the component where applicants gain or lose the most ground.
