Frequently asked questions
How is the IU admission aggregate calculated?
IU weights applicants as follows: Matric / O-Level 25%, Intermediate / A-Level 45%, Entry Test / Interview 30%. Your percentage in each component is multiplied by its weight and the results are added.
What aggregate is needed for admission to IU?
Closing merit changes every year and by programme. Competitive programmes at IU historically close between 70% and 85% aggregate, while less saturated programmes can close in the 55-65% range.
Does IU accept A-Level and O-Level results?
Yes. A-Level and O-Level applicants must submit an IBCC equivalence certificate, and the equivalence marks are used in place of intermediate and matric marks in the aggregate formula.
Is the entry test the most important part?
For IU the entry test carries 30% of the aggregate, so it is usually the component where applicants gain or lose the most ground.
