How to use this admission merit calculator
Frequently asked questions
What is the merit formula at PU?
PU builds its merit list from Matric / O-Level (25%), Intermediate / A-Level (45%), Entry Test / Interview (30%). Each component percentage is multiplied by its weight and summed to give the merit score used to rank applicants.
Is merit the same as aggregate at PU?
They are usually the same number: the aggregate is your weighted score, and the merit list ranks every applicant by that score. Some PU programmes add interview or portfolio marks on top.
How many merit lists does PU issue?
Most Pakistani universities including PU publish three to five merit lists, each with a lower closing merit than the last as selected candidates decline seats.
Does hafiz-e-Quran or sports quota affect merit?
Yes, bonus marks under hafiz-e-Quran, sports or reserved-quota policies are added after the base merit score is calculated, where PU policy allows it.
